He is the son of WWE Hall of Famer "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, the half-brother of WWE superstar and All Elite Wrestling cofounder Cody Rhodes and the ex-husband of former WWE Diva Terri "Marlena" Runnels. In the mid 90s, with WWE creating several new over-the-top gimmicks, the controversial Goldust was born. His valet Marlena was supposed to be this trope too but the storyline was rejected.

More recently, he's been a liberal user of the famously legal most-definitely-not-a-Groin Attack reverse atomic drop.

  • He delivered the worst Shattered Dreams of all time to Kyle Fletcher during their Chicago Street Fight for the TNT Championship, by pouring thumbtacks into Fletcher's trunks before delivering the kick.

Likely as close to male-on-male molestation as the WWF/WWE would ever show.

His character was an adult film star, and this being the Attitude Era, where anything could happen, there was even a backstage segment where he, um, got his male member cut off. Since that point, he has largely been a midcard or comedy act; teaming with the likes of many Divas, R-Truth, his brother, and many more. "They did the Goldust angle.

While he is most known for his work in WWE and WCW, he has also competed for All Japan Pro Wrestling, the United States Wrestling Association in Memphis, TNA, Fighting Opera HUSTLE, and many independent promotions around the U.S.

Dustin got his start bouncing between WCW and the independent scene, chasing tag team gold here and there as himself, taking on the moniker "The Natural" most places he went, even being the US champion at one point.

As Dustin Rhodes, he usually used the bulldog.

Dustin Rhodes' gimmick was now a born again Christian who prayed before the start of every match.

Dustin then did indeed lose. He came home and Cody said, 'Dad, why does that mean?'"

Nash continued: "Scott, who wasn’t a homophobe, told Vince, he goes, ‘If I have to go home and explain this to my kid’, because you can't just say, 'Oh, well, you know, some men.’ I mean, you have to go into that whole, you know, and so Scott just said, 'I don't feel comfortable doing it.' That's all it was.

Also, Jerry Sags of The Nasty Boys and Fred Ottman are/were uncles at one point, as they have both been Dusty's brothers-in-law.

During his initial run, the ‘Bizarre One’ feuded with Razor Ramon, with the two originally set to clash at WrestleMania XII in 1996.

He was done being punished, adding:
