On April 3rd, 2024, Twitter / X user @MasteroftheTDS tweeted in response to news that Julia Garner will be playing a female version of the character Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four, writing, "They put a chick in it and made her lame and gay 😂," gathering over 6,000 likes in a year.
On September 29th, 2024, Redditor /u/Fuzzy_Ad7886 posted a meme to the subreddit /r/southpark about people who ignore the part of the episode in which Cartman says, "I guess ..
“We keep making the same movie over and over and pandering to everyone, but suddenly it’s not working.” Iger replies, “Then we’ve got to pander harder!” It turns out the multiverse rip was caused by Lucasfilm’s Kennedy, who tapped into a secret Disney artifact, the “panderstone,” which the studio has been using to remake the same ideas over and over in ways that try to appeal to the largest audience possible.
That’s the vision Pete Docter championed. I did play the latter and it was a decent though typical AAA open-world game. Being replaced is exactly what happens when a portal to the multiverse opens up, which replaces him with a Black woman while sending Cartman to a universe populated only by women of color. Much like forced diversity, these are “features” mostly included to pander to certain audiences and are ultimately superfluous to both story and gameplay.
It is my hope that all three of these games (and any like them), are financial failures.

About
Put A Chick In It, And Make Her Lame And Gay refers to a catchphrase from a 2023 South Park episode titled, "Joining the Panderverse." The line is said by a Cartman-like character representing then-Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.
On Kennedy’s side of the ledger, The Mandalorian was considered a massive critic and fan success (at least, until the show’s recent third-season slump) and the show was credited with launching streaming service Disney+. … I was fighting with the wrong tool. Pixar, once hailed for original storytelling and cross-generational appeal, recycled old tropes and slapped them onto a limp narrative.
As Federalist writer Gage Klipper put it: “Elio, crushed under the weight of its derivative storytelling and animation, might as well have been an umpteenth sequel.
Kennedy is also the most high-profile female entertainment executive at the company — perhaps even in all of Hollywood — and it’s probably not a coincidence that so many online critics expend so much firepower on her rather than, say, Disney CEO Iger or Marvel president Kevin Feige. Then there is the Tenchu stealth series that doesn’t aim for realism and where the object is usually to avoid direct combat with foes; making a female assassin more believable.
An additional prediction is that this game will be well-reviewed, nominated for ‘Game of the Year’ at the “Game Awards” but will also be typical open-world slop.
The next game is the more notorious Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet which was revealed at last year’s Game Awards.
In this episode, the character Eric Cartman experiences unsettling dreams that lead him to an alternate universe where South Park's residents are racially diverse women opposing the patriarchy.
'Elio' was lame. It really wasn’t surprising that she was chosen as the ending most players most players who saw it to the end would have seen was her choosing to become a witcher. Ciri is also a major character in Andrzej Sapkowski’s dark fantasy novels that the series is based on and even in those books was given witcher training though without going through the same mutations.

South Park‘s latest special skewered Disney for its recent box office slump, accusing the studio of lazily recycling the same ideas except with diverse casting.
Would Disney’s latest flop, “Elio,” have been saved if the company made the film “lame and gay” instead of just lame?
The intensity of her online vitriol — not just in comments, but in article after article after article after article on various sites, often speculating she’s this-close to being fired — over the past has seemed outsized, which is part of what South Park is addressing.

In a fantasy or science-fiction setting, it is generally fine as it is in setting that eschew realism like most video games used to do. A more flamboyantly queer lead might have offered marginal character development — but at the cost of turning yet another kids’ movie into a vehicle for ideological affirmation. And given that the game has been in development for years, it likely has an enormous budget that will require many millions of units sold just to break even.
Whatever happens, I expect it will be in most ways a very typical third-person action game that will still receive wide critical praise and awards.
The Witcher IV was also revealed at last year’s Game Awards though developer CD Projekt had previously announced a new game in The Witcher series was in development.
In the original version, Elio’s ability to empathize with outsiders, shaped by his own struggles as a bullied homosexual, helps him save the universe from hostile invaders.
If 'Elio' teaches Disney anything, it’s this: Wokeness isn’t a narrative. But his colleagues and subordinates ignored it, instead giving audiences mediocrity wrapped in buzzwords.
Of all three characters, I would say she is most likely to be “bisexual” based on some dialogue options found in The Witcher 3.
UPDATE (12/06/25): I am currently reading through The Witcher books, some of which I had previously read. I decided I would make movies that fight all bigotry in our society.
Lucasfilm is a subsidiary of Disney, and while Kennedy has received criticism over her handling of theStar Wars franchise in the past decade (which saw declining box office returns and plenty of behind-the-scenes creative shake-ups), she’s not in charge of Disney’s overall slate — or considered the mastermind behind the company’s so-called woke push (which has included public battles with Florida Gov.
Ron Desantis over anti-LGBTQ policies, as well as more representative casting and characters across the company’s various divisions, including Pixar).
