According to an official warning from the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor), the website "contains information that spreads propaganda of non-traditional sexual practices, and its dissemination in Russia is prohibited."

It continued: "[The website] may incite interest [for minors] to try non-traditional sexual practices which is a real threat to their health."

However, Gay.ru administrators say they will appeal the court ruling and even challenge the blocking of the website in international courts.

Speaking to Gay Star News, Gay.ru's Ed Mishin said he had no idea why the website had been blocked now after running successfully for so long.

"The site was blacklisted because 'any person from the internet, even a child, can read it'," he said.

The website, which averages 30,000 hits a day and requires users to agree that they're over 18-years-old before entering, is still available outside of Russia.

A much needed resource for members of the local LGBTIQ+ community, Mishin says the website "features more than 15,000 articles and documents in Russian and 500 in English".

When looking at the signs you are gay, you might want to ask yourself these questions:¹

Have I ever been sexually attracted to the same sex?
Do I feel strong emotional bonds to the same sex?
Am I physically attracted to the same sex?
Have I considered having a sexual relationship with someone of the same sex?
Have I had sexual same-sex experiences in the past?

The American Psychological Association defines sexual orientation as an "enduring emotional, romantic, sexual, or affectional" attraction toward another person.

The game notably makes use of spherical platforming, with Mario running around orbs such as planets and meteors. The game was a massive critical success, gaining a rating of 97/100 on Metacritic. It is mainly a 3-D adventure game starring Mario (and Luigi at a certain point in the game), who as usual must rescue Peach from the clutches of Bowser.

YouTuber JoshJepson also played the game on his channel, with his first episode gaining over 440,000 views (shown below, right).

So… Chunks, Huh? refers to a line from Nintendo'sSuper Mario Galaxy in which a penguin approaches Mario and says "So… chunks, huh?", referring to the in-game collectibles known as star bits.

In order, these letters are U, R, M, R, G, A, and Y. Considering "U" and "R" to be abbreviations for "you" and "are" and splitting the letters into words appropriately, there appears to be a hidden message of sorts telling the viewer, "you are Mr. Gay".

Long-running LGBTIQ+ website Gay.ru blocked within Russia

Russia's longest-running LGBTIQ+ news website has been blocked by the Russian government amidst claims that it violates the country's law against “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations”.

Gay.ru has been delivering local LGBTIQ+ news for over 20 years and was previously told that it was not in violation of the "gay propaganda" law, which passed in 2013.

The technology to make this possible took three months to develop. And if it does turn out that you are gay, remember that there is nothing wrong with being gay – it is just part of who you are.

In all, it's best to experiment with your sexuality and consider what you feel like when with a woman or when with a man. It received Game of the Year awards from several publications, including Kotaku, Nintendo Power, Yahoo Games, and more.

There is only two games from the Super Mario Galaxy series: Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. Just because you are a man who is effeminate or a woman who is boyish, that does not mean that you're necessarily gay.
