Who are the stars of Heated Rivalry?
Hudson Williams, 24, and ConnorStorrie, 25, play secret lovers Shane and Ilya.
Williams has so far acted mainly in his native Canada, where he played basketball and practiced MMA, while Storrie—a trained gymnast—is from Texas and had a pivotal role in 2024's Joker: Folie à Deux.
Having never met before, it was the chemistry between the two actors during the audition process that secured their spots in the starting lineup.

The books are fiction, but Reid—an avowed hockey fan—said there were definitely "flashy European players" who, taken as an "amalgam," inspired the character of Ilya, while guys who "were the more stoic, good-boy captains" informed Shane.
Asked what sort of research she did to write such convincing sexy material for two men, Reid said with a laugh, "I don't know if you have to do research if you're just thinking about it all the time!"

This Canadian comedy focusing on LGBTQ relationships features a cast that includes Alexander Nunez (Avocado Toast the Series), Nadine Bhabha (Letterkenny), Tymika Tafari (Slip), Izad Etemadi (Ghosts), and Leighton Alexander Williams. But with such wonderment comes the cruel hand of the AIDS epidemic. It’s unhinged, heartfelt, and extremely online — exactly the kind of gay television that thrives in 2025.

FX and Hulu’s Adults dropped its entire first season on May 29 and instantly became the hangout comedy gays didn’t know they needed.
Centered on five flailing twenty-somethings living together rent-free in Queens while one parent travels the globe, the show leans into messy adulthood, fluid relationships, and found-family chaos.

Netflix cancelled the series after just one season, barely giving it time to build momentum. No warning. Miles Heizer, Liam Oh, Sachin Bhatt, Max Parker, and Vera Farmiga won’t be returning, and fans are still side-eyeing the platform’s commitment to queer storytelling.
