I think anybody would be overwhelmed in that situation.”
As Kyle moves forward in her personal journey, she’s prioritizing honesty and self-acceptance, as well as the newfound closeness she shares with her daughters. Throughout the show, several castmates have also alluded to the rumors.
In the latest episode, Garcelle Beauvaistold Kyle directly: “If you want to be a lesbian, be a lesbian.” Kyle later suggested that Garcelle intentionally made the comment in the hopes that it would rattle her.
“The cast doesn’t buy Kyle being a lesbian nor really believe she is a lesbian,” said a source who’s close to production, in an interview with OK!.
The source claimed Kyle wouldn’t ever be in a romantic relationship with a woman.
“Think back to when she and Teddi Mellencamp were so shocked to learn about Denise Richards and Brandi Glanville,” said the insider, referring to Brandi’s past claim that she once hooked up with Denise, who denied it.
"I just wanted to be as honest as I possibly could."
When rumors began circulating about the nature of her friendship with Morgan Wade, Kyle said that she began to "wonder" and "question" herself a bit. “She was acting like she was so appalled and confused that a woman could be with another woman.”
According to the source, the cast isn’t “buying” the “thought” of Kyle dating a woman, but the costars continue “bringing it up” because “if she’s going to try to use [it as] a distraction or storyline… well, then they’re gonna call her out on it.”
On a recent episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Garcelle claimed that her comment wasn’t an attempt to push Kyle to come out – but she wanted her costar to “own it” and “be authentic.”
“I feel like Kyle cares a lot about what people think and how this is gonna look,” said the star.
“For me, to have their support—regardless of what happens in my life — means the world to me,” she said with a laugh.
“I really never thought like this before. "A lot of things in this last couple years made me see things differently. I'm learning things about myself.'"
In addition to her ongoing sobriety and wellness journey, she also separated from husband of 27 yearsMauricio Umansky in 2023.
I still want to be a good role model to them, but I realized that in being a good role model to them, I need to be honest and teach them to be true to themselves too."
But after sitting her family down to talk, her kids couldn't have been more supportive.
"I had to say to them, 'This is something that I have been confronted with now, so I want you to know that, because it's out there,'" the Halloween Ends actress continued.
I want my daughters to always be comfortable being whoever they are and know that they're loved and supported no matter what."
